Whats New

WOW! Where does the time go? With getting Colby and Karissa off to school every morning and on Tuesdays and Thursdays Kyle to joy school. Then getting them back home. It's time to make dinner before I know it. This week I'm teaching Joy school so I'm busy planing that.

Last week my little brother's wife had baby number 2, Brock Maxwell. And he is so so cute. Speaking of babies we are still working on boy names that start with a "K" or a "C". Colby informed us that the name has to have the hard K sound to go with the rest of the family. I know that we have time but it has been going so fast for me in some ways. The comments have really started. This last week when I walked up to the bus stop one of the parents said "Looks like you're going to pop any day." I said "You haven't seen anything yet." I have until after Christmas. And I get huge all out front. Me at 24 weeks. I am huge already.

Not much change on the basement this week. Brian had to go into work this weekend. But he did talk to a friend at church and got permission to hunt on their land and they told him about their 10,000 acre ranch in North Carolina. They said the deer are all over down there and he could get as many as he wants. I'm fine with very few. Deer meat is not my fave. It is about 4 hours from here. So, now Brian has to see what North Carolina's hunting regulations are. This will help him keep his mind off of not being in Idaho for the Hunting season this year. But nothing will keep him from the Salmon season.

Basement Update 9/21/08

Folks, Julie has asked that I Brian "The Tape Man" Homer do the honors on the latest basement update. Yes, we are actually making some progress, slow progress in some peoples eyes, but progress none the less. I now know why I did not do sheet rock for a living. There is a talent to taping sheet rock that I have discovered I do not possess. That has not stopped me from learning as we go. I am actually improving so by the time we are finished with this stage of the project, I will be an expert. There are ample opportunities to take out post work aggression by sanding in the evenings after work. We now have the theater room painted and plugs installed. It is now being used as a storage area until the project is completed. This room is waiting for the doors to be installed, base molding and carpet. The bathroom is needing a few touch-ups before final painting then onto the plumbing, cabinet installs and tile the floor. We are now working on the exercise room, kids club house and recreation room which all have the first round of taping complete. This means the sand paper is coming back out. Travis come back! The plan is to have all taping complete with walls painted and electrical complete by the time Merrill shows back up in January. Grandma and Granpa Homer will be visiting in November for Thanksging and I am sure we will make some progress when they are here. This will set the stage for full completion during Bastians visit in January.

Halloween!

My kids have talking about what they want to be for Halloween for a few weeks now. Karissa, I think is going to be an 80s punk rocker. Colby wants to be a Star Wars person and it changes from day to day of who. Kyle just wants to just dress up and get candy.

I hope that the kids will not change their minds after we get their out fit put together. It doesn't help that we have been getting stuff in the mail about Halloween for weeks. I know that the marketing people do this to us so we will buy more stuff. Just give it a few more week and we will be seeing Christmas stuff. Yes, I said Christmas. The last few day have been way to hot and heavy to think about that. I love Thanksgiving and Christmas, but not the was they try to sell it to you.

Basement update

Well, the basement has slowed way down. Most of it is because of Brian's work. Saturdays are just not long enough. I kept telling Brian that this summer when I was in Boise with the kids he would have time then but, work got in the way. Over the "Labor" Day weekend Brian with the kids help worked and played in the basement. They painted the movie room and primed the laundry/bathroom. We are getting closer and by doing it all ourself, with my dad's help, it is going to take longer but it is going to be worth it in the end. Brian painting the movie room. Movie rooms 1st coat. The laundry/bathroom.The club house The kids want it done so bad. I want it all done so bad.

First Day of School!

The kids were so ready for school this morning. They had their backpacks and shoes on at 8:00 and the bus didn't come until 8:45. Here they are at the bus stop. The first ones in line. Here in the Prince William County the first day is all day and kindergarten is all day. Kyle was very sad when they got on the bus. He told me that he missed them and he wanted to run after the bus. So for lunch we are going to eat with Brian. Kyle starts joy school next week. (Tuesdays and Thursdays) So that will help too. It is kind of crazy to think I have 2 kids in school. We love them so much and they are going to do great this year.
