Trunk-or-Treat
We had our ward Halloween party tonight. We were a little worried about the trunk-or-treat part because it rained all day, but it cleared off just in time. The kids had fun doing the cupcake walk, singing, dancing and of course, all the candy. Brian even dressed up.
Ready to party!
Karissa is a cheerleader from High School Musical. She saw this and out went the 80s punk rocker
Kyle is Optimus Prime.
Colby as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
No, I did not swallow a large pumpkin whole. Thanks for asking.
The fall colors are just breath taking. I took this in the yard before we left for the party.

Nature walk after math...and updates
Well, On Sunday we had a lovely walk but now Kyle and I have POISON IVY! I did not go off the trail so I just have a few spots on my legs. Kyle he has it all over his face and arms and tummy. The poor kid. I knew that it was going to happen the kids had to find big rocks to throw into the water. Not every one get poison ivy, because non of the others have it. When I lived in Lakeville, MA I got it all the time and my little brother, Steven, would roll around in it and never get a spot. It just not fair sometimes.
This week Kyle had a fun Joy school field trip. They went on the Metro (train) to DC to see the Butterfly exhibit. Kyle really liked the train that is all that he talks about. Karissa had field day Monday. I always thought that field day was at the end of the year, well not here. Colby and Karissa have very cool field trips coming up at the end of the month. Basement update...non to report.
Oh and there is another photo of the growing belly at the bottom. Yes, I know... I hear it all the time. And it's only going to get bigger.

Warm Weather...Calls for a Nature Walk
Yesterday, after church and dinner, we went to Lake Brittle. It was 85 and beautiful. We wanted to go on the trails around the lake and see more of the area. A lot of people had the same idea but it wasn't to bad. As you can see the leaves are starting to change. The kids are gathering the "pretty ones" from the yard and I have a nice size bunch.
I have never been this close to a Blue Haring before.
I don't know what kind of crane these are but they were fishing and it was so fun watching them. We never got to close to them because the kids were a little loud. Our kids have stadium voices. They do well at ball games. We have yet to fish Lake brittle but Saturday Brian took the kids to the pond by our house and did a little Bass fishing.

Picnic Fun!
Between conference yesterday, we had a picnic at the park by Karissa and Colby's school. The kids got there wiggle out and had fun.
We brought our own table that I got for Mother's Day two years ago. It's the best Mother's Day gift this family ever had.
Colby the monkey bar king. Even though the kids are not aloud to go on the monkey bars at school until they are in the 3rd grade. Yes, they suck the fun out of everything. Colby is really good at them.
Kyle love to go as high as he can on the swings. He loves having his tummy tickled as he says.
Karissa chilln' on the swings. She's our sweet heart.
Horsen' Around
This last week the kids had a chance to go riding. One of Brian's coworkers have five horses just down the street from us. So, the other night we saw them out there and stopped in on them. They let the kids ride and they thought that was so cool.
The horse that is smelling Colby's foot is Copper. She loved being in the middle of things.
Karissa Looking like a pro.
Kyle again, he just loved the horses. The kids are still talking about the horses and that the want to ride again.

Lake Brittle
After Conference we went for a drive. The kids wanted to go to Bull Run Battle Field so they could fight with light sabers. But we tried something new. I laughed when I read this.
Lake Brittle is a 77 acre, 24 hour, 365 days a year fishing pond. The whole 24 hour thing is funny. I know that for cat fishing you go at night, but you can go fishing 24/7...what more could a Red Neck want. Really this was a fun place. You can rent canoes, go on nature trails around the lake. The best part is that it is about 10 miles from our house.
