Snow!

This is the 1st snow fall of the year for us. We have been hearing about all the snow back home and have been missing it. The kids were out of school Tuesday Jan. 27 and when they got up there was the snow. Oh they had so much fun. Today there was no school because of the freezing rain on top of the snow.

Colby was on the go and would not stop of a close up.

Tons getting done

Grandpa is here and the basement is looking good. Grandpa is also having fun hanging out with the family and playing the Wii. Boy, Kade is looking big. He is 10 lbs now.

Here they are grouting the bathroom/utility room late Thursday night.

Dad got the knobs on yesterday and that made things look nice. We ordered the carpet and should be here by Feb. 2nd and hopefully they can get it right in.

Dad and Brian hung doors Wednesday and Thursday. The trim went up Friday. Brian took the day off. Yesterday they got things ready for paint. That will be on Mondays to do list.

Brian has finished all the pluming now that the toilet is in and works.

Fun in the tub!

Kade loves bath time for a new born it is kind of crazy. Here's grandma bathing Kade.
He doesn't like to get dressed. A true free bird. I just had to get a photo of him crying. It was a long time before I heard him cry. It is a wonderful sound. We are enjoying our time with grandma. It has been so much fun having her here. The kids are ready for grandpa to come and be here too. They want to help him in the basement. He will be here tomorrow. Bishop Bastian couldn't be away from his ward for to long.

Loved!

We are so happy that Kade is home. And the kids are kissing and loving him like crazy. Kyle was not able to see him at the hospital and he is making up for lost time. We have had to keep a close eye on that boy. My mom is here helping me and I'm so grateful for that. The kids love having her play the Wii with them almost every night. My dad will be here Tuesday and Brian is happy about that. (It's more help for the basement.) Plus the kids want him to play the Wii too. We are getting settled with 4 kids and loving ever part of it.
Thanks again for all the thoughts, prayers and love.

Kade has made much progress this week and the Doctors have given the go ahead for him to come home Thursday the 8th of January. He is eating well and is becoming very bossy which means He is feeling much better. We are all very excited to get him here and hope that he is fully prepared for all of the love and attention he is about to get. Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers over the past week.

One Home...One to Go!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that Julie was able to escape Prince William Hospital today and both myself and the kids are very happy to have her home. I am not sure how many more times I could handle hearing Kyle say, "I need my Mom". She is still a little worn down but we will do our best to get her back on her feet.

Kade is showing great improvement and is reducing the amount of support that he needs. He is opening his eyes (mostly when his mother is there) and is giving the nurses all kinds of trouble, just like a true Homer should. Here are a few more pictures we took today.

Thanks again to all of you for your prayers and support.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone. I found a computer at the hospital and wanted to give everyone another update on Kade and Julie. Sorry! No pictures. Julie is recovering well and has been able to get up and walk around as well as visit Kade in the NICU. We are not sure at this point how long his stay will be. He was showing signs of improvement yesterday so the doctors reduced the breathing support in hopes that his body could transition. Unfortunately his little body was not ready yet and he is back to square one. Until he can support himself, he will be hanging with the folks here at the hospital. Julie will be coming home on Saturday and we will be making the visits to NICU until Kade gets well enough to come home (No ETA at this point). Julie and I wanted to thank all of you for your prayers and support. We will try to get some pictures on for those of you who are picture bloggers not blog readers.
