Events From The Start of 2010

When we looked at the calendar of events we had planned to start 2010, we knew that January was going to be over in a flash. Throw in a few snow storms and here we are, February. Here is the recap of some of the major events that have taken place in our lives.
Kyles' personality is growing bigger than life as you can see in many of the photos.

Brian had a work party to kick off the New Year. We had 5 families, kids and all come enjoy a pizza party. It was a great opportunity for Brian to get to know his new team a little better since transferring to his new department in November. Sorry no Pics, not sure what we were thinking. I guess we will have to have them all over again.

The following week after the party was over Julie and the kids had the opportunity to send Brian off to Singapore on a business trip. As you can see from the pictures, it was as winter as it gets there but 85 degree days in January are pretty sweet! Other than the 20+ hours on the plane each way and 13 hour time difference to adjust to all went well. The hospitality was amazing as well as the many different types of food that he got to eat. Brian even got to go Prawn fishing! It was like Christmas again when Brian got back with several gifts for the family. Enjoy a few of the photos from Singapore.

We also had the pleasure of having Cousin Travis back in our home for the weekend as He was in town for training. We took the opportunity to take Him to the DC temple and watch the new movie "Joseph Smith, The Prophet of The Restoration." As Travis said, "That puts things in perspective, now doesn't it!" I couldn't agree more. Thanks Trav for coming to visit, you are always welcome.

Finally, the big snow storm of 2010 has come and gone. After hour of shovelling we have the drive way and front walk cleared. At this point we are waiting for the snow plows to come but it may be several days until then. For those that make fun of food storage, think again. To watch these folks around here before the storm hit who do not keep any storage was almost sad. Grocery stores and hardware stores were cleaned out and folks were in a total panic. They acted like they may never see the sun again. We are grateful for the teachings and guidance we receive which makes times like this fun and enjoyable building memories for the ages.

Happy New Years and Happy Birthday

New Years Eve is Kade's Birthday. We had a little family party. Kade loved the cake. He was eating it the way Cookie Monster eats cookies.
Kade is such a joy on our home. He wants to keep up with his brother and sister and they love playing with him. His birthday was a wonderful way to end our 2009.

On New Years Day we rang in the new year with a little facelift to the house. We put some color on our white lifeless walls. The lucky rooms were the formal living room and dining room.

The next day I put a little more life on the walls with some strips.

I have more photos of this project and other projects that I have done on my craft blog not-to-shabby.blogspot.com

Santa Baby!

We had a wonderful Christmas! It took all day to open gifts because the kids wanted to play with everything right away. If a picture is worth a thousand words then there is no need to say any more. Merry Christmas and we love you!

Let It Blizzard!?!

We were in and out all day today, playing and working.

After the driveway was cleared off some we enjoyed sledding down. After some R&R more work and play.

Could there BE any more snow?
Brian help the kids make a snow cave. And they had a blast!

The kids are just Loving all the snow. It really has been a lot of fun! We'll be out in it again tomorrow. (No Church.)

Let It Snow!!!!

Here is what we woke up to this beautiful December morning.

We have been playing and moving snow all morning long. Every time we turn around we need to start over again. It's like painting the Golden Gate Bridge. We had a wonderful neighbor come snow blow out our driveway or we would not have caught up any time soon. The kids are having a blast playing in the snow.

Sorry folks, No cookies in the culdesac this round.......to much snow to get the truck in proper cookie mode......maybe next time.
