Having so much fun!

The kid are having so much fun at Grandma and Grandpa Bastian's house. They have made some new friends, Spencer and Abigale, that live across the street and are in the ward. They even brought over some cup cakes for the kids and they thought that was pretty cool.

We went to see Nikkie play softball at The College of Idaho where she will be going to school in the fall. Go Yotes! The kids had a hard time thinking of their dad going to school there. And an even hard time thinking of him playing basketball there. After that we went with Kim and Chris to Lake Lowell to check out the water and the kids were ready to get on the water. The only problem was we didn't bring the boat. After we get back from camping we will be on the lake. It's only 4 miles from Grandma and Grandpa house.

We have also gone to some of Kevin's basketball games. The kid cheer for him even when he is setting out. "Go Kevin Go You Can Do It" is what they yell it's to funny.

I'm enjoying the thin air and that I can be outside and not melt in the humitity.

We made it!

Thursday we made the long trip to Idaho. We flow out of Baltimore passing 2 other airport because we got such a great deal. It was a hour and a half drive. About an hour in Colby had enough and say "Lets just go home." We had about 10 more hours until we got to Boise. All in all the kids did really well just a little jet lag.

The kids have been 4-wheelering with grandpa, put the tramp together, playing in the water, made cookies with grandma, painted their rubber band guns. I have been lame and haven't taken any photos of all this fun. This week I will do better.

Fun in the Sun!

This weekend has been a very warm one, no it was hot, humid and just nasty weather. Saturday morning over at the pond there was a kids fishing party. They gave out toys and rods. Kyle won a toy bass fishing boat and Colby won a new fishing rod. Colby and Brian were over there fishing for 3 hours in the heat. I went for maybe 30 minuets before the heat was to much. Kyle had sweat coming down his face just standing there. He asked me "What is this?" Meaning the sweat. I told him that means you are hot. "Lets go home mom, it's too hot." I did see Colby get a hog all my himself. He knows what to do. Karissa know what to do too. She can hold her own. It is fun to watch. Just not when you're melting.
We got the pool out and the kids had so much fun. It really doesn't take to much to have fun in the water and cool down some.

Kyle

On July 5th Kyle will turn 3. When I think of his birthday I can't help but think of our friends and family that stood by us and helped, prayed and gave blessings, brought in meals and looked after Karissa and Colby. It was one of our hardest trial that we have had to go through. Kyle came 4 weeks early he was big 8lb 7oz and 19 1/2 inches. Yet he was in the NICU for 9 days and 5 of it he was on life support. Going home from the hospital with out my baby was so hard. I cried the hole way home. I also cried when we brought him home.
He is so much fun. The other day when he saw the full moon he said "Mom wook the moon's not broken any more." He loves to sing song that he makes up. He is a joy to have in our home. He keeps me on my toes. He is a very loving kid. We love him very much. Here is a slide show of him growing up the last 3 years.

Boys Will Be Boys!

Colby and Kyle love to play fight. Today I got them on video. They are playing in the hallway up stairs. I was a little worried that one or both were going to fall down the back stairs. They didn't thank goodness.

Happy Memorial Day!

Growing up in the Bastian family, long weekend holidays, like this one, were spent working on the farm. Usually we were moving boards or an occasional rodeo. We laugh now and ask my folks if they are moving any boards. This weekend we didn't move any boards. Instead, we went over to Bissigger's to play on the water slide and have a BBQ. It was a little chilly but that didn't stop the kids from going in the water. We also rode bikes and of course went fishing. Like all long weekends it went by way too fast.
